BFR scope mounts
« on: October 20, 2008, 07:45:18 AM »
I know the new BFR's come with a weaver style mount. But I've also seen them with a leupold dual dovetail mount as well. Given the high cost of good weaver rings I'm thinking I can buy a dual dovetail leupold mount with rings for less and have fewer parts to break. The problem is I cannot find the part number.

I'm pretty sure they have the parts for sale on the Magnum Research website.

I bought the SSK base, but didn't realize that it required drilling the barrel itself. My gunsmith wasn't comfortable performing the installation, so I guess I have to send my BFR back to MR for the work.

Nothing is easy. Lol.

Here's the link to MRI's page with info on the Leupold mount. It does require the gun to be drilled and tapped.
