knoxx butt stock
« on: September 09, 2008, 08:05:12 AM »
The new Remington Max turkey has a Knoxx stock on it . This stock uses springs to tame recoil and adjust like the stock on an AR type rifle . A bbl switch , and a slug gun could be made .
Any way has anyone tried one on a slug gun? If so did it work well or not ?
There is an article in Shotgun Sports ( I think it was that mag. ) that showed a slug gun with one .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Yes, I have fired a shotgun outfitted with the knoxx specops.

It does function exactly as advertised. It will extend your range trips if you shoot a lot of slugs and buckshot...however, the springs are STIFF and will hardly function at all with bird shot or other light loads.

Personally, I did not like it.
For one, pistol grips are too cumbersome and bother me (personal preference).
Second, the fact that the entire shotgun will recoil back into the stock makes for a weight experience. Most people tell you they don't notice it...but I did.

I wouldn't own one.
Lots of guys LOVER them over on shotgunworld, though. It seems to be *THE* choice stock on their tactical rigs.

I suggest you try it before you buy it.

I use one in my 12 gauge shotgun with 3 inch loads.  I do notice a difference with regular sot, esp buck shot.  There is not a big difference, but it is noticeable.I would love to fit one on my 20 gauge Rem 870, but it WILL not fit.
