« on: October 31, 2008, 08:09:23 AM »
Howdy one an all,
I just put the finishing break in rounds through my 24 inch 375 JDJ Encore barrel.
I am shooting 46 grns of H322 and a Hornaday 225 sprial point.
I an acheaving around 2,600 FPS and two inch groups at 100yrds.
Clean bore one inch low next four in and around one inch, one inch higher.
Any thoughts or advise for tweeking this load to perfection?

If you are leaving a layer of oil in the bore after cleaning, then don't.  A coating of oil can damage a good bore if shot through and the first 1 or 2 or 3 shots from such an oiled bore will have different impact points than later shots.  If you remove all oil before shooting with some solvent you can avoid this problem.  Better yet, instead of oiling the bore, let the final passes be with something like Prolix or Microlon Gun Juice.

I'm going to have to disagree.
Excess oil bad, light film of oil a must for rifle barrels.

Oil is unnecessary unlees you are storing the rifle.  I never oil the bore (or clean a barrel) until after hunting season is over.
