1917 Navy issue 1911
« on: November 23, 2003, 01:14:46 PM »
My brother has a genuine 1911 Colt which is stamped 1917 Navy, meaning it is WWI issue and has the flat mainspring housing and all the other correct parts. It's been a while since I last saw this, but the gun is very good to excellent conditon if I remember right. What's it worth?

My nephew also has my dad's Remington-Rand 1911 A1 which is absolutely pristine--Dad carried this pistol in case he was shot down over occupied Europe when he was a B17 radio operator in the 96th. Bomb Group. Anyway, gun looks unfired. What's the value? I know this stuff is getting pricey.

Thanks for your answers. A pleasure finding this web site.

Jack
