My "handi-work" test fired!
« on: September 22, 2008, 05:14:49 PM »
Went to the range today to sight in some rifles, including my friend's Ultra that I just fitted a .270 barrel to.  One I bought from GB's Handi rifle classified ads.

I had a bunch old old Federal 130 and 150 gr. factory loads so I used the 150's to get it on paper at 25 then 50 yards.  Then I fired a 3 shot group at 100 just for grins.  A 1.20 inch group!   :o  Talk about a happy camper!   ;D

I took a picture, but I'm to tired to post it tonight.   :-[  I'll do it tomorrow.  That is if I have time since I'm going to be stuffing 130 gr. bullets on top of doses of H4831 when I get home from the office!  Another trip to the range Wednesday!   :D

Nice job. That 270 should be the bee's knees ;)

Did you use the brown glass or the green glass shims for it?

Sounds like you did real good , just for S&G give some 90g Sierra's HPs a try , one of my 270s just loves them . makes a nice coyote round .
