eye Relief Problem
« on: September 21, 2008, 07:14:48 AM »
After adding an inch to my stock, to make it fit me, now the scope doesn't come back enough.
I looked at Warne Matte Picatinny Base For H&R, but the way the mounting screws are it will not
give any extra space. The screws are in the ends, everyone I have used were inside somewhere.
Any one got any good ideas' ?

Try some extension rings. Weaver (ATK) and others make them. Most are 'high' rings only but it still is an option. Most will give you another 3/4" to play with. Just a thought.

Good advice, mine is the same, extension rings. I have used the Weaver 4X4's in the past and they worked well. I think they changed and cheapened them up recently though...

And boy have they cheapened them!! Take a look at a new set vs a set that's at least two years old. I replace the screws before I use them now. The screws have irregular shaped allen/hex head holes for starters.

If they're like the Grand Slams I have, they're made in China, says so on the back of the package! :'(

I agree that the Quad locks leave a lot to be desired.  Weaver still offers the traditional steel extension rings.  They are a bit more pricey, but worth it.  I've used them many times over the years.

Scroll down to about the middle, left side.
