What sort of stocks can you still buy from H-R?
« on: September 19, 2008, 06:17:28 AM »
I've found a NIB youth .243/20 guage combo. No sights on the .243 barrel and the shotgun barrel looks full length unlike some of the youth shotguns I've seen fron H-R. The stock is a brown laminate. Does H-R even sell adult sized brown lam stocks that are not monte carlo? It would have to be the standard stock and not the monte carlo to work with the 20 guage barrel. I might just sell the stock set and put a Choate synthetic set on if an adult butt stock cannot be obtained.

Please see the Retail Parts page in FAQs and Help sticky, all stocks they make are available, some are out of stock usually, like the laminated t-holes are now.

From H&R? I thought Remington had purchased H&R / NEF?
Does H&R still exist as a supplier of parts but not firearms. I'm not trying to be a smartass, just confused. Thanks -gary

Remington owns H&R just like they own Marlin, but both companys still exist and are marketing firearms and retail parts. The big change for H&R is customer service is ran by Remington from their Madison NC facility and the factory is in the Remington plant in Ilion NY.

just a related question, can you just call or mail order the stocks, or do you have to ship the frame to them?  thanks.

Stocks can be ordered toll free at (866)776-9292 from H&R, or you can snail mail an order form to them if you have one. Supposedly we should be able to place orders online at the H&R store thatdisappeared from their website for upgrading, but that hasn't happened yet, I suspect they're waiting to get their system in order in Ilion before that happens. Stocks can be installed/removed at home, see the FAQs to learn how.
