FA 454 Casull, 45LC, and 44 specials.
« on: September 15, 2008, 03:39:13 AM »
Well it appears some of you gentlemen and ladies were correct. Last year I purchased my first FA revolver - a model 83 Premier in 454 Casull with a 45 LC cylinder as an accesory. This was my most expensive firearm purchase to date (that means I really couldn't afford the gun). At nearly 60 years of age, I decided to buy a FA revolver as my last big firearms spend before I drift off to that big shooting range in the sky. Things didn't go as planned. Recently, I took possesion of a model 97 in 44 special. Wow! these things can shoot! My only regret is that my tired old eyes cannot compliment these fine machines. Just think if I could have purchased a FA in my prime - no maybe not as I would probably have sold my best hunting dog, hocked the farm, and got a second job to get another FA revolver. Now those 32 mags or the new 327 federals might look good beside my other two FA's in the gunsafe. And of course I am always a sucker for another 22 mag.
Just like Lays potatoe chips - bet you can't buy just one.  Good shooting.

Keep gettin' 'em. But FA's don't do well in a safe . Shoot the socks off 'em.

I understand what you're saying. I got got my first FA at the age of 59...I learn slow.. ;D...but a year and a half later I just ordered #4 (which is a 5 1/2" .44 spl by the way). Now I'm scanning the contents of the safe....because 4 FA's might not be enough...and somethings going to have to get sold.  ;) So the bad news for you sir....it's gonna get worse.  ;D

Who cares if FA's do not fare well in a trade. I'll keep mine as they do not seem to be getting any cheaper. I,ve a desire to have another FA in 22/22mag 5 1/2" or a 32 Mag. I guess I'll need to save a few pennies for those. Good shooting gentlemen. I'd like to compare notes when you get that 44 special.
