Had a nice Visit with Mike & Tracy
« on: October 09, 2008, 12:03:12 PM »
While Mike and Tracy tour the country inspecting cannon, taking measurments & photos

I had the pleasure of meeting them while they were in Virginia Beach yesterday, I gave them

a quick tour of where I work and we were joined and treated to lunch by the CEO who is also an artillery buff,

we had a good time talking shop (cannons of course) and got to see their latest endevor the VII Treble banded

brook rifle, it is an impressive peice they have packed allot of detail & research into it I hope next year will

see them once again in Floyd for a cannon shoot, and I hope to be there with something to shoot!

Mike and Tracy gave us each an unfired bolt from their cannon for our artillery shell collections.

Thanks for a good afternoon & safe travels

Allen -

It is indeed a pleasure to meet with T&M!  I'm glad y'all could get together!

Come April we should plan out the next shoot.

So what does your CEO shoot?

Nice to meet you, Allen!  We had a real good visit.  We learned a lot about modern military load bearing equipment and about old cannon too.  We were particularly interested in the Hotchkiss two pounder and those Nepal field pieces.  I bet they will look great when cleaned up, after all that 50mm Krupp Mountain howitzer looked almost new!!

Mike and I sure hope your wife's treatment goes well and that you both are able to travel west to Floyd next year.  We would really enjoy shooting a cannon or two with you.  Neither one of us has tackled a project as complex as your latest gunsmithing project is, since we developed a side-lever Ruger No. 1 about twenty-five years ago.  We got tired of having that long under-lever dip down into those cactus spines and dirt as we were shooting pasture poodles from prone.

Best regards,

Mike and Tracy
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

Most likely he would bring the 50MM Krupp that I was talking about in the Floyd shoot thread.

Hopefully come April I'll be able to put some time into finishing my cannon project!  ;D

Mike & Tracy thank you, I am believing the Good Lord will take care of my lady and she will recover from this,
next year we'll be able to get up to Floyd and have some fun!
