Thinking about getting a FA 500we and was wondering what the out side demition of a sized 500we case is and if the lee 440g bullet mold will work to make bullets for the FA in 500we?

I got the 500 Wyoming Express I have 300 rounds threw it now shooting 446g hard cast bullets with 8.2g WW231 850 fps 14.5g long shot 1150 fps and 28g 296 1320 fps the heavy loads take some concentration on my part and some tape on my middle finger. The light loads are quite light in recoil and I could shoot them all day.

Hey crowmag! There was a .44 special twin sister to your .500 WE and it was snatched up within a couple of hours of being listed. Do you know anything about that??? HMMM?? :) ;) ;D

 Congratulations on a terrific gun!

Crowmag,

What grip material is that? Do you know who made them? Really nice!

Thanks.

Thanks. Didn't look like micarta to my untrained eye. Thought it was similar to the Linebaugh "linen finish".

true micarta is linen micarta. Lots of grip makers make plastic grips they  call micarta. true micarta like dustin linebaugh uses is as expensive as fine walnut and about indestuctable. Looking at those grips im betting there linen micarta.

So, does that mean that the micarta half of us have on our guns is not the real thing?

Yup. Bottom line is if you didnt pay 2-300 bucks for your grips id bet a dime to a dollar that its not micarta its either plastic or some other polymer. Only a couple grip makers use real stuff. FA guns have real micarta and dustin linebaugh uses the real deal. Other then that i dont know of anyone else right now doing them.

Thanks for clearing that up Lloyd. I had no idea at all. Don't think I've ever seen or touched the real thing (sad admission!). The other pics that I've seen of the FA's with "micarta" weren't so distinctively "linen-ish". Thanks. Looks great.
