H&R Survivor .308
« on: August 26, 2008, 10:27:41 AM »
Hey guys! New to this forum and this is my first post.  I've been a huge fan of single shot rifles/shotguns ever since I was a kid, and saw a used .223 Survivor in the gun shop today.  It was beat to hell, but I loved the way if handled and felt.  I ordered one in .308 and it should be in tommorrow or the day after.  Does anyone have any experience w/ the .308 survivors on here?  If so what kind of accuracy are you getting out of them?  Can't wait for this puppy to come in  :D  I look forward to talking w/ everyone in the near future :)

My Survivor .308 came in today! YAY! Bought some Millett windage adjustable rings to mount my bushnell banner 6-18 on, and a shell holder for the side.  Sweet little package.  Can't wait to get you guys a range report on it!  I'm going to try some Black Hills 165 gr match ammo in it...

Cool ;D

I like mine. It shoots the Rem Cor-Lok 150grn into nice tight groups at 100 yards. I have found that with me the hard butt plate can get old fast when shooting off the bench. For that I bought a shooting pad to wear when at the bench. You will like this gun. ;D

IIRC a size medium Simms slip on recoil pad fits the survivor stocks just great, easy on, easy off, reduced recoil and still have easy access to the storage room in the buttstock....<><....:)
