I want to be sure that the Tikka laminated stock on my son's new .270 is sealed well enough to prevent moisture damage during hunting season. Anybody know how well they are sealed from the factory? I'd like to use something that does not require stripping the factory finish if it is deemed necessary. Any ideas?

Budz: When I have a concern I usually remove stock and use some Johnsons paste wax in the action area and barrel channel to seal it up then use a light coat on the outside finish as well.

In resent years the factory finish on both TIKA and SAKO has not been the
best.I use berch wood casy products to reseal and finish.

Budz,

The Laminated stock on my Tikka laminated stainless looks fine to me. Then again, I don't know too much about laminated stocks like I do synthetic stocks. That notwithstanding, I believe that the finish on the Tikka laminated stocks could be better.
