Bolt Removal From 760
« on: August 26, 2008, 03:43:32 PM »
A friend is going to paint a .308 760 carbine for my brother but the gun will be baked at high temperature and we have to remove the plastic ejection port cover. We can't figure out how to remove the cover. Does the barrel have to be removed to get the bolt and cover out?

Thanks, MIKE.

Yes the semington 7xxx rifles must be broken completely down to remove the bolt assy. This includes the barrel.

on an autoloader you must remove the barrel stub retaining nut located just underneath the bbl at the front of the reciever, on a pump I think the slide hangar bar serves the same purpose

Save your self some possible headaches and take itto a gunsmith that has all the right tools and knowledge.
No offense, why turn a fun thing into a possilbe nighmare. Good luck.
