I am interested in finding out what everyone thinks about Leica or Nikon rangefinders.  How accurate are they and what do you like about these brands.

I have a Leica 800.  It has worked great.  I have had a Nikon in the past and it too worked very well.  I dont think you can go wrong either way.

I have a Leica 800. Good optics for a range finder. Very accurare range finding. Freind of mine just got the Leica 800 from Sierra Trading Post on sale for $229.00. Don't know if they still have them.

Cherokee, that is a fantastic price.  I paid $300.00 for mine and then found out it was Graymarket ( a whole nother issue ).  Typically the Leica goes for $399.00.

That is a SUPER price!!!

BTW, Nikon and Bushnell rangefinds are really the same thing.  I understand that Nikon simply bought the right to put their name on it.

The Leicas, on the other hand, are top notch.  The optics are much better, AND the rangefinder is in RED as opposed to Bushnell's/Nikon's black.

I would buy the Leicas at $229.

Bushnell and Nikons are certainly not the same article at all-- with one exception, the Bushnell 800.

Leicas do have the best glass-- whether you want to pop for a Leica depends on your like of the LED, and your preference for size.
