range report on my 223 syn.
« on: April 30, 2008, 02:49:33 AM »
Got too take the 223 out to the range and get a few rounds down the pipe.  I was really happy with the gun at 50 but at 100 it was shameful.  At 50 it was shooting 2 shots in the same hole.  Out to 100 three shots high and to the right, not just a little high close to 3 inches and 2 1/2 to the right.  I am shooting factory Winchester loads 45 grain jhp.   Is this because the tube needs more break in or do I need to work on or something   eles.

It took like 60-80 rounds before mine started to drive tacks a 100 yds.
Try different ammo, my 223 syn. loves Hornady 55 gr. v-max.
I had no luck grouping my 223 with cheap ammo.
Reloading is definitely  the best way to go!
Hope this helps,
