Ruger Frontier .338 Federal

I am thinking of getting a Ruger Frontier in .338 Federal. Has anyone have one and could give me their opinon on it and the .338 Federal round, any input would be appreciate it, Thank you.

  My concern would be ammo availability, especially if the cartridge doesn't last.  Were I needing something close on that platform, I'd opt for the .308 model.

I really like the caliber myself.  I like the larger bore diameter in a compact, short action package.  If you reload (which you should) you will NEVER have a shortage of brass as the parent case is the .308.  The recoil with a 225gr bullet is no more than a 30-06 with 180's IMHO.  I do not have a Ruger Frontier but I have handled one with a scout scope on it.  The gun I fired was a rebarrelled Savage 110.
