Hi All first time question
I recently picked up a M99 in 308 at a gun show. It is a late model #"A687xxx".
It does not extractor properly. It will pull the shell out about half way and release it.
I had the extractor replaced and the chamber polished but it still is a problem. The extractor just does not hold onto the rim.
Loading seems a little off also putting a round in the magazine is not as easy as I would have thought like the magazine does not line up.
I also noticed that the magazine counter seems top be off not showing the number one until there is 2 rounds in the magazine.
and last is the bolt supposed to be flush with the action(in the rear) or down a little.
My smith has done all he can he did tell me that he was able to close the action on his "no-go" gage
any help or recommendation for a M99 expert gun smith. I live in Rawlins, WY.
