First harvest for my R-9 Goldfinger…Warning Graphic pictures!

Today I finally took this woodchuck that has been raiding/digging holes in my garden and my wife’s flower beds.  My son has hit him a few times with his Daisy 880 with BB’s, so this woodchuck became very elusive. However today I was able to sneak around the back of my house and well……….
The shot was 36yds and I hit right were I aimed, the base of the skull/neck. The .20cal FTS preformed EXCELLENT! The pellet penetrated the neck and pulverized the spine. I did a biopsy and you can see the pellet logged in the shattered spine. The FTS pellet expanded to .32 cal. and weighted 9.3grs. The woodchuck was immediately anchored and the only thing that twitched was his tail.

This airrifle never ceases to amaze me. Once I calculated and punched paper to see the actual pellet drop, I can hit with regularity my ½ life size animal targets (squirrel, rabbit, and pigeon) at 75yds. It is no longer challenging to make hits on targets at ranges under 75yds. I would never try to take any eatable animals at that range with the R-9, but steel targets, 12oz plastic soda bottles and tuna cans etc. are taken almost every day. I enjoy shooting and this gun allows me to shoot just about every day w/o having to go to the range.
I just wish I had bought this gun with a scope that had mil.dot reticle or target turrets.
