Bushnell Banner Ruggedness?
« on: February 06, 2008, 03:49:35 PM »
I am trying to find out what failures anyone has had with their Bushnell Banner scope on a handi or TrackerII. Any returns to the factory? Any change on point of impact when going up or down on the magnification band? General Thoughts?

I'm looking to install a 1.5-4.5x32mm on a Tracker II or Topper 30-30 barrel I acquired. I have a Weaver 1-3x20mm that will be used on the remaining barrel of the two. Your input would be appreciated both good and bad. Seems like the reviews on Midway and Cabelas lean toward the positive. Thanks

Read the 45-70 Scope thread in the FAQs, it has a link to a MO thread on that very scope's use on 1895s. And here's another one from MO.

I have 4 of those scopes. One is a 6-14X40 mil-dot I use for coyotes on a Savage 22-250. I  have one on a Savage 270. (6-14X40 mil-dot)
I have one on a H&R .204 Ruger (6-14X40 mil-dot) and a 3-9X40 on a Knight muzzle loader. They all work great and the coyote gun gets
a lot of abuse.

I have at least five Banners on Calibers from .223 to .308 and never had a problem with any of them. I had one problem with a Bushnell Sportsman on a .223 and Bushnell promptly replaced it with no questions asked.

I own many Bushnell Banners, they all keep their zero once sighted in.  Since I carry them on the handle bars of motorcycles, snow machines, and 4-wheelers, Also slung on the side of horses that fall occasionally, some have been damaged.  I sent them back to Bushnell with a letter as to what happened.  In every case they have replaced them free of charge.  Have taken many Moose and Caribou looking through a Bushnell Banner scope.  Only had one bad out of the box.  When I sent it back with a letter of explanation they sent me a replacement with an upgrade.

That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I really like the Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5X32.  I have one on my Glenfield .30-30 that saw previous service on my .30-30 Handi.  It's an awesome scope IMO.  I prefer Bushnell scopes over all other brands.

man..............i'm hurt that you would ask!   :o :o

they've been putting them on the Weatherby Vanguard package guns, from the last i saw on their website, including their hard-kicking Weatherby calibers.    i use 'em on bolt guns because of their optics and their guarantee.

i give 'em away as presents!   8) 8)         no freakin' lie!    :o :o

have i made a dent yet?   :-[

i just had to get that out of my system!

The one thing I will say about the Banners and Bushnell in general is "they are rugged".

They also hold zero very well
