Info. on G2 and Encore
« on: February 11, 2008, 03:24:51 AM »
HI All.
Would like to know what is the basic difference between the G2 and the encore. There seems to be a lot of products in gun shops for encore and I know that there are a lot more cal. in barrels also difference in hand grip angle from older contenders and of course the easy open. Also understand that the 16 and 21 inch barrels will fit the g2. I have 3 of the older contender and a number of extra barrels and also 1 of the older contender rifles. so I guess what I would like to know is what advantage would I gain by buying a new G2 0r encore. There are a lot of barrels at good prices for the older rifles at the gun shows.

Thanks for your input

Hello,
The only gain to getting an Encore is bigger or should I say hotter calibers. the Encore will take the rifle calibers that the contender will not. Ex; 30-06. 300 Win mag , 22-250 .

The barrels from the Contender and the Encore  will not interchange. When I say Contender I also mean G-2.

The g-2 frame and the Encore do have the same grip angle but the grips do not interchange.

You can get a spacer from OTT to use the Encore grip or rifle stock on the G-2.
 hope this helps
