CZ 550 American in 6.5x55SE

I have been needing/wanting a modern action rifle in 6.5 Swede just so I could load the cartridge to it's full potential. After much deliberation, I ordered a CZ 550 American. Picked it up at my dealer this afternoon. This is a very nice rifle for the $. I find the fit and finish to be excellent and the barrel is floated perfectly. The single set trigger is a nice feature. I will be breaking it in and zero the new Nikon Monarch UCC scope this weekend. This set up looks very promising for deer, hog and varmints with handloads down here in the Sunshine state.

I had the cz american sarfari 550  in 375 h&h and it was a very good shooting rifle.The action was smoothand groups were one to two in. at 100 yd.with 270 gr. bullets. I was happy with this gun hope this info. will help you

I have that rifle and love it.  You will too.  I had to run a hundred rounds through it do break it in.  I don't remember the charge weight but mine loves the Nosler 100gr partition on H380 powder.  Took two deer with it this year.  Bang, flop, dead!!!

I ended up mounting a 4x Nikon on it and sighted her in last Saturday. Using Winchester factory soft points, it is shooting 1" at 100 yds out of the box. I have some 140 gr core-lokts and some 125 gr Partitions I am going to try over some IMR4064 and some H4350. I love this rifle so far and it won't take long to "break it in" LoL. Thanks for the load tip, brdavis. I may give it a try after I see how it does with the components I have on hand.

I tried the 100 gr Nosler partitions with 43gr of Varget.  Dang!  You should try it but you may need to run about 100 rounds down the tube first.  Mine seems to shoot better the more I shoot it.  With this round (not measured) but a nickel will cover a 5 shout group at 100 yards!!!

I think that's about typical for a CZ.  I have on in .17 Rem and it'll shoot 5 shot groups you can cover with a dime using handloads.  That's a keeper.
