410 Questions
« on: December 16, 2007, 03:07:07 PM »
I just discovered that the Rossi 410 comes with a mod. choke.  How does it pattern and how is the accuracy with slugs as compared to the H&R 410's?  Do they have extractor or ejector barrels on the 410?

Huh, I'll be darned?  My daughter has the youth .22/.410 combo and I hadn't realized that the .410 barrel was Modified until I read your post and checked it.  I had just assumed it was a Full choke because 99% of the time that's the way .410's are choked.  I have not patterned it with slugs so can't offer any info there. But now you have me curious.  Oh, my daughters gun was purchased last Christmas and it has an ejector.  Being used to my 6lb + full sized Topper, my daughter's gun feels like it weighs about 3lbs and the recoil really surprised me the first time I shot it using 3" shells.   :D

I have had the .22/.410 combo for about 2 years now. As for the .410 patterning, at 30 yds I could hold about a 3-4" group. I was using the Win rifled slugs. After 30 yds it wouldn't hold a pattern better than about 6-8". Now for the .22, that is a heck of a shooter.
