Almost ice fishing

Warmed up yesterday and most of the last deep snow has gone, everyone is still waiting on the ice to get thick enough to hit that first ice pan-fish rush.

Went into some lake channels and jigged over the side of the boat for bass.

I know...i know...this is a fly-fishing forum...BUT here's what I used to catch two 4 pounder's:

This fly caught some small throw back'ers":

This fly got me a small northern....21" long, going to make fake lobster chunks with this big-boy!:

So for all those fly fishermen that ice fish...instead of using jigs, use weighted flies and have a blast!

Almost forgot...the grandkids were catching BIG 11" DARK colored bluegills around the empty boat-docks that were looking for the 1st thick ice on:
