Stock Replacement & Several Misc. questions
« on: December 03, 2007, 03:19:07 PM »
1.) I have a NEF 17HMR Sportster that I would like to install the Survivor "Forearm" on. This is the synthetic that has checkering. Appears to be available on Brownell's for $17.00 which seems very reasonable!
Will this bolt up to my Sportster and should I expect to have to make any modifications as it is grouping excellent using V-Max.

2.) Can anyone recommend a good adjustable cheek-piece that can be installed on the regular synthetic stocks? (Straight comb)
It appears that you cannot get any type of Rollover or Monte Carlo stock in Synthetic and I find myself climbing the stock for scope use.

3.) Are there any articles available on our site for doing your own Paint/Camo jobs on synthetics? I'm especially interested in applying the Snake-skin pattern on the Barrel.

Thanks,

NEF-17

1.  Yes, ALL stocks fit ALL frames and barrels(except 10ga), although you may have to change the barrel channel on some forends. The only way you'll know how it will shoot is to try it.

2. The Choate Varmint stock has optional cheek risers.

3. As usual, see the FAQs, there are two links to previous discussions on camo painted stocks.
