CVA 45 cal Naval Cannons on Ebay
« on: November 25, 2007, 02:57:33 PM »
Has anyone noticed the flood of Spainish made CVS .45cal Naval Cannons on Ebay? I have one and was looking for another one or two for a Naval display and was advised that they show up on Ebay now and then go for about $80. I had only notice one or two and bid up to $125, but I did not win. They went for around $175 as I recall. Another showed up on Ebay a couple weeks back and it went for over $300!! Now everyone is digging them out and listing them. There are 4 listed now. One was bid to $162, but missed it's reserve. The other 3 are at $68 (nearly ended) $46 and $40 with a few days left. I doubt the $68 will go for that ( I am shooting for that one!!). Time to dig out your old CVA Naval cannons, for some reason they are HOT on Ebay.

They tend to go in waves like that.  One person sells one, other folks get the idea of making a nickle and the hysteria of the auction takes over.

There are a LOT of various cannons and mortars currently on eBay.  They seem to be quite popular lately.

Yup. I've got over 20 auctions going right now, and I have to admit that I pay my extra 10 cents to schedule a start time on some of them to take advantage of this phenomenon - If there are several bidders on an item like I want to sell, I have my auction start a day or two before the similar item closes. Folks regularly do the same on my auctions.

redbaron80,

Search Gun Broker's auction site. There is one listed for less than the ebay ones you mention. All these prices really make the one my father found at a local thrift store sound like a good deal. It was only $5. ;D
