Looking for Sako project
« on: April 01, 2007, 05:25:48 AM »
I am going to look for an older Sako that needs some TLC but still shoots good, 25-06, .280.  I am asking what older actions do you guys like?  Is the Finnbear a good one to look at?  I work wood for a hobby and a refinished stock with a Tru-oil finish will make here look real pretty.  Buckfever

There is a gun shop here in Southern California that has an older AII in 30-06.  I purchased the bigger AIII in .375 not too long ago.  I think they came in as a pair from someone.  The place is called the Shootist in Murietta CA.  About an hour North of San Diego.  It was in pretty good shape.  If I come across some extra funds I may get it but I like .308 more.
Also J&W had a 30-06? Sako AII not to long ago.  He had a new stainless 75 in 7 Mag as well.  They are in Riverside California.
Hey make it a bigger project and re-barrel it in .280.
Hope it was helpful.

The only thing this rifle needs to make it  outstanding, is the wood refinished.

Good luck.
