M&P .40C
« on: May 09, 2007, 01:54:42 PM »
Just got back from the range after trying out the Wife's new M&P .40C.  She wanted a 9 at first, but I talked her into the .40 and after she held it and saw how well it fit her hand she agreed.  She has been shooting 135gr bullets loaded to 1300fps and absolutely loves the gun.  When she was shooting a Taurus 85 I was lucky to get her there once a year, now she's talking about going every week!

I'm thinking of trading in my Glock 27 to get one, they feel just so darn good in the hand.  Mags are a bit pricey right now but should come down, and I feel good buying American.  As I survey my collection I realize that it is overwhelmingly S&W.  That's my brand.

The S&W M&P is one of the best "plastic guns" out there. The grip is excellent; points like a 1911. The gun is positioned very low in the hand for excellent recoil control. The 40 in other guns can get alittle snappy, but is very controllable in the M&P. Recoil seems to come straight back more instead of flipping the muzzle up allowing one to get back on target faster. I really like the size and feel of these guns and they are priced right.

I have a S & W, M & P full sized 40 and a M & P 9mm compact. Great pistols with very good ergonomics and very accurate with a no b. s. lifetime, warranty. The MP's have only been on the market since around Dec. 2005 but have attracted many fans in that short time. My MP 40 has never had any kind of failure in over 3000 rounds. My 9mm compact had some feed problems but S & W corrected that problem (so far) at no cost to me, in fact they sent me a free, extra magazine, for my inconvience. They have a special promotion going on now giving a $50.00 rebate and including two free magazines with a NIB purchase. Check it out at;

The 45 caliber MP has been out since the last Shot Show with very good revues. I would have bought a 45 by now but I'm not real happy with the cost of 45 ammo. But who knows what the future holds? ::)
