Any idea when these will be ready?  Midsouth and Midway keep pushing the date back.
Thanks-Ron

I ordered the grip/forearm set direct from Pachmeyer/Lyman in early May and still have nothing.  Called several times...the polite young lady in customer service knew nothing.  GOOD SHOOTIN',  Walt  :(

Dong's in Tulsa, OK has them.  I'm sure they'd ship you one if you called.

Last time I was in, they had three grips, but no fore end.

I'm considering getting one of the grips, but need to check the reach to the trigger before purchasing.

I ordered mine back in April expecting a June delivery. They finally sent me the grip in August. It did not fit properly, it would not sit high enough to cover the back edge of the frame.

When I called Pachmayr, they said there were some issues with the forend screws bending or pulling out under heavy recoil. The forend is quite heavy, so that might be part of the problem. They didn't mention any problems with the grips.

It is a great feeling grip, looks nice too, but I never got a chance to shoot with it because it sat so low. Hopefully I'll get a new grip soon.

Whoa.....talk about timing....there was a package on the porch when I got home last night.  The new grip/forend set is here!!!  It seems they have a standard set and a magnum set.  I got the standard set, which is recomended for everything from .17HMR to .308Win.  From 30-06 on up they say to use the magnum set.  Evidently what we've heard about the forend screws breaking under recoil must have been true.  The difference between the two sets is all in the forend.  The forend has no adapter like the Contender forend.  It screws on just like the T/C forend. They say the magnum forend is considerably lighter than the standard which they say is four times heavier than the T/C forend.  I didn't weigh mine but it doesn't seem to be as heavy as the ones on my Contenders especially with the adapter.  Fit was great on grip and forend.  The grip is quite a bit thicker(side to side) than the Contender grip and my first thought was reaching the trigger but that turned out not to be a problem.  I would describe my hand as medium in size.  The thickness in the palm should do well with recoil. It was too late by the time I got it rigged up to go back on the farm and shoot.  More on that latter.  In general, I'm pleased but I'm thinking maybe I should have gone grip only and gone to Ole Georgia Jim for the forend.  I'll report back as soon as I shoot some this weekend.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  ;)

Walt, how would you say it compares to the rubber Encore grip size wise?  bigger, smaller, closer or further from the trigger?

Thanks-Ron

Ron- This grip is more hand filling than the T/C rubber grip.  I haven't done any measurements, but I'm sure it is thicker from side to side. Very little, if any further to trigger.  Still haven't hade a chance to shoot.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  :)
