20 sabot data
« on: June 08, 2003, 02:16:04 AM »
I ordered 20 ga. sabots from balisticspecialties as well as the 410 round ball slugs. I called them and they are sending me data for the sabots, the 410 and the Lyman slugs. They have some Lyman slugs in stock even though they are discontinued, I thought I would try them before ordering the mold. I will report on how it all works out, as soon as the little league season is over. Shotgunner

Looking forward to your tests.  I've still got the 20 ga barrel.

Hey Shotgunner,
Do they have their slug book done yet? I've been waiting for 12 months for them to publish it for the 20. I have a 20 slug barrel from custom shop that shoots Federal barnes Expanders great but want to try my luck at reloading sabots for it. If you got the 20 sabot for 250 gr bullet, you may want to try the TC PTX muzzleloading .45 cal 250 gr. bullet with the plastic tip. I intend to try it since it is deadly out of my Encore and bet it would be something out of the 20. I've got some .45 cal 250 gr. XTP's laying around so they will work I'm sure. Will call them this weekend for some sabots as well. Post up on what you do and I will do same. Also just found out Sabot Technologies is selling their stuff in bulk now. I load my 12 with their sabot and it is awesome on paper and deadly on deer.
