How much faith does everyone place in the listed ballistic data for slugs these days? I spent a few hours sighting in my .50 cal MZ and my 20 ga. USH with partition golds. I had more time last year to dedicate to the range. Last season I primarily used Hornady SSTs out of my USH but wanted a slug with more down range energy and flatter shooting this year. Due to time constraints I started shooting at 50 yards and got the partition golds dialed in where Winchester's tables said I should be.
I know that in a perfect world they should shoot on out to 150 yards at a certain drop like they are listed, but I'm also aware that I need to move the bench back to 100 then 150 to see where these slugs end up. I just don't have the funds this year to keep going through several boxes of slugs (currently unemployed).
I guess that I'm hoping some others have had excellent success shooting these slugs based on the listed ballistics provided by Winchester.
Thanks for any input!
