110 vs 111

What is the difference between Savage's 110 and 111 rifles? Some 111's have a clip, but except for them few I have a hard time seeing a difference?

Not much between those two actions types.

The only difference comes into play with the lettering.  110G=wood stock, 111G wood stock, 111F synthetic.

Other letters have different meaning regarding hinged floor plate, drop magazine, varmint barrel, muzzle brake, open sights, police (tactical ), stainless versus blue,  etc.

There are differences in some of savages target and single shot actions, and obviously differences between short and long actions (10 versus 110, 11 versus 111), but other than that............

If your looking for specific features, chances are they make it.  If not, you can do like all the other savage heads do (myself included), get the action/magazine combo you want and just build the rest.
