williams fp series sight
« on: August 19, 2007, 12:00:30 PM »
i bought this sight from the h&r store a while back and mounted them with no problem. my first time out with them was with hornady's leverution rounds. they were all over the place. i tried some remington's 325 jhp's and they were much better...not as good as i would have expected but still better. when i got home i noticed that the elevator locking screw was loose....yikes....try looking for that in the bush. i used a little blue loc-tite to hold it i place and thought, "wouldnt it be nice if they made an adjustment knob for the elevator locking wedge instead of a screw . I called williams' tech support and asked if they made such an animal and the tech resdponded "no". i then asked what thread the screw was and he said although he didnt know, he would transfer me to someone who did. i explained the situation to the person to whom i was transferred and he said "actually we do make one". he then asked if i would like one...said it would be here in 7 to 10 days.
this will be a real nice addition to the williams fp series sight for my bc.
i took the bc out today with re-tightened adjustment screws and some winchester 325 gr jhp's.  wow what a difference. the gun shoots much better than me.....i am very happy with my buffalo classic. more so with the addition of the lower front sight globe and the williams fp series rear sight. if the elevation knob thing works out i will post a pic.

We've been there done it already, this is from the FAQs in the Long Range sights link. ;)
