oddball Mossberg pump shotgun
« on: August 21, 2007, 02:10:03 PM »
There was an unusual Mossberg pump 12ga. shotgun at a yard sale I was looking over. It was built like a bolt-action, with one-piece stock and box magazine, but had a foregrip that slid over the stock. Didn't have anything to write down the model number, so I haven't been able to look it up online. It's not pictured in an old Numrich Arms catalog I have. Does anyone have any idea what its model number might be?  ???

It sounds like your referring to the Mod 200 slide action.  It does have the look of their bolt action shotguns, but works as pump style. If its a "K" model, it actually brings a good bit more than the standard bolt gun.

If your a Mossberg bolt action shotgun fan, the 200 is a good find in decent condition.  I recall having seen only 2 over the past five years or so and one was missing parts.

Just curious: how much were they asking for it?

The gal selling it had been told by someone at a local gun shop to ask $185. It was a very unusual gun, which tempted me greatly. However, having just paid that for a Browning BPS, I didn't want to try to justify another gun purchase to my wife.
Condition was pretty good, although it was missing the safety markers. It did have the magazine.
