BTW, what is the replacement cost for one of those plastic mags? I heard it was $75.00.

I dunno for sure.  I've heard they can be had for around $60-65 but I haven't bought an extra one yet.  Blessings, Rev

The local shop here has spare Tikka mags for like $49 and the extended capacity ones for a few bucks more.

First I want to say I have total respect for GB and his comments on TIKKA.  I have no reason to believe that his comments are what he believes and what he has seen.  My first and only Tikka did have a issue too.  The stock required me to remove some material on the stock.  I wanted the barrel to float and it did touch on one side and had to do some sanding on the stock.

After that I went to my shooting bench and started shooting.  I can say without question about Tikka(from an owner of a Tikka T3 lite in 30-06) is about the best shooting rifle I have had.  All factory ammo will shoot very well.  You will love the Tikka.

I try to keep in mind that world experience should be considered and GB had more than me in that area.  Just look at his picture and his gray hair should tell you that you need to listen to what he has to say.  Being an old Alabama boy I have been thought that the older generation knows more than me.  Having said that also consider the comments from people that have had field experience with this rifle.

Both are good. The T3 has the looks, but I think that the Savage is a better shooter. I like the AccuTrigger .
I have BOTH AND MY SAVAGE  is more accurate.
