S&W Performance Center 500
« on: September 25, 2007, 07:51:25 AM »
I am about to purchase a S&W Performance Center 500 and have a Bausch & Lomb 4 power scope to mount on it. What type of rings should I use?

Warne fixed, not the QD kind. I use them on my 500 Mag and I have not had any problems with over 3000 round fired.

Another option is to use Jack Weigand Magnum Scope rings...

If those don't work for you then you might try the TSOB from SSK Industries.  They are a GBO sponsor.

I used the Warne QD mounts on my PC500 and they work fine. They allow me to pop the scope off and use iron sights. Only thing: any mounts need Loctite to retain the scope in place. I used 620.

I bought a used  Vari-x 2.5-8x32 to replace my bausch &lomb 4 power after I purchased the warne medium fixed rings and the med. are to low for the leupold. Sent them back and ordered high fixed  but they are on backorder think I will change that to the QD rings. Seems like a good idea to be able to remove the scope as long as zero remains unaffected. Thanks
