H&R Buffalo classic
« on: June 08, 2007, 12:00:04 PM »
Used a 300g Lyman cast bullet with my BC and a Remington Rolling Block made in 1883 a M1867 the BC shot a 1.350" group at 100 yds and the Remington did 2.108"m not bad for a 124 year old rifle. The BC did it in the 10 ring the Remington was at the bottom of the target. If it is permissible I will let you know the load only if you say it is OK.

OK here is the load, no secret 4g of 4198 kicker and 61.3g of WC872 surplus 20MM Vulcan powder. The secret is the kicker cleans the WC872 up if you do not use it it is dirtier than black powder. The BC got 1487FPS and the Remington was 1495FPS. Sorry I got my 1885 Winchester in there also my Sharps 45/70 it has a part I am waiting for on the sight to be able to shoot it.

What a nice collection of Classic rifles you have there. The BC is a worthy addition to the family.
Thanks for sharing the Pics. Very cool indeed.

By the time I die I might have just what I want, my boys are already dividing them up I told them that they would be so old they wouldn't be able to shoot them.
Glad my boys are into the shooting sports as I know more than one man who are big into shooting and their boys are anti-gun.
Yes it is a duplex load and the secret is that the kicker load doesn't mix with the main load. The case is not big enough to get a overload of WC872 so fill it to where it will compress just a little.
