LOAD DATA FOR 243 WIN
« on: May 21, 2007, 05:09:42 AM »
I have a .243 Handi that my son will be using to hunt deer this fall. I'm looking for reloading data or recommendations for what works well in a handi.

I have some 95gr Nosler BT's that I wanted to try. Anyone like or dislike these for deer?

Thanks!

Hi rvjd4,

I see you are looking for a load for a .243. Assuming you have a Handi Rifle, here is a load I really like in mine. Try this:

 WW cases
 Hornday 100 grain spitser
 Part Number 2453
 35 grains of IMR 4064
 CCI 200 Primers
 Seat bullets .010 off rifling

This load will shoot 1 ragged hole at 100 yards in my rifle. (3 shot group)

 Tony

Let me know how it works out if you use this load ;D

My deer load for this caliber is at least a 95gr bullet and IMR 4350 powder.

Hornady 100gr RN is a favorite if the yardages stay inside 200. Also the 95GR Partition, nice balance of weight and performance.

If you have to go lighter, stay with the HI-performance bullets.
