Hello all, I am new to this group but a frequent poster on several other forums here. My question is. How much should I expect to pay for a good used Contender 44 mag pistol? Any replies would be appreciated. Charlie

You may or may not even find one. The easiest way to get one is to buy a frame and barrel separately. Most of the time the grip and fore end come with the frame but not always so ask. If you're looking for an older (pre G2) blued frame I'd expect to pay about $150-200 depending on condition and location. At the upper end for sure grip and fore end should be included. For a SS frame add $25-$50. Barrels most of the time can be picked up used for $100-$150 in excellent condition.
If you're looking for NEW then the G2 is about it and that's gonna cost more. New G2 frames with grip and fore end are running $300 and up. New barrels are generally $200 or so.
A complete used Contender in a common caliber like .44 Mag should run you about $350-$375 IF you find one and IF the person trying to sell it is reasonable and not trying to get rich off it.

I really can't afford one now. I just bought a used 629 so it will be at least a couple more months before I can save that much. I appreciate it though. I was just seeing what kind of prices I would expect to pay. Charlie
