Early Deer scouting
« on: July 05, 2007, 10:52:23 AM »
Anyone seeing any deer in velvet, or any newly dropped fawns?  I was lucky enough to see a nice 10 point in full velvet this past Tuesday ...surprised me , but a good one.    I know there will be lots of time to think about that first sighting of a buck this fall....but I think I am gonna start the 4 wheeler and get the ground ready for that late July food plot.....I have been told.....look for edges, boundaries, and secluded trails.....that's where the "wall hangers" hang out..............dreaming of fall........

I had a fawn bedded down in my front Yard garden.  I've seen several small bucks in velvet.

I have seen plenty of bucks in velvet already this year. Unfortunately for me they were all on private land, and Im stuck hunting public land.  :'(
