Last weekend I finally had an opportunity to hit the range with some handloads for the .30-06 I picked up last November.  Here are the results, along with chrono velocities for several factory loads.  The rifle is a 1984 Ruger and its topped it with a Burris Fullfield II Ballistic Plex scope.  I floated the barrel and honed the trigger.
Factory velocities:
Federal 165g Fusion   F3006FS2   2775
Hornady 150g SST      8109      2829
Hornady 165g BTSP      8115      2644
Remington 150g FMJ   L3006-2   2843
Winchester 165g PSP   x30065   2753
168g A-MAX, BL(C)-2, 0.5g increments, 8 shots, 1.00
47.5g 2511fps
51.0g 2695fps (Max charge per Hodgdon)
168g A-MAX, H4350, 0.5g increments, 9 shots, 1.15
55.0g, 2622fps
59.0g, 2847fps (Max charge per Hodgdon)
Overall I am quite pleased.  The throat is so long the bullets are way off the lands all I can do is build cartridges just short enough to fit in the magazine and cycle reliably.  As long as it shoots like this I wont complain!
