Hey guys,Im new here but I have some information for you guys interested in a black powder 12 ga shotgun.I dont know if anyone has ever heard of a place called Hubbards Outdoor Products but I talked to him a few months ago and he said he has made one up for a guy before. He said it would take some but he could do it for me.He also makes drop in .45,and .54 caliber muzzleloader barrels as well.I havnt done it yet but plan to before next turkey season. He also makes a really nice ramrod to replace the cheap one H&R makes.I bought one for my brother last christmas and its real nice. Its made from naval brass ,heavy duty, and has a nice nuraled(spell check)handle.Thought Id let you guys know.

Funny, I was just thinking of this while walking the dog this evening . . .wouldn't it be fairly simple to thread a conventional 12 or 16 gauge Pardner barrel for a breech plug, say something that takes primed 9mm Luger cases for ignition? You could just solder on a thimble for a ramrod (you'd have to make a ramrod with a threaded extension which you'd carry separately). Put a standard Huntsman/Sidekick forend on, and you'd have a single-barrel ML shotgun.

While I'm at it -- since I seem to be so fixated on shooting round balls for economy and simplicity, would it be possible to ream out a .50 caliber Huntsman barrel to .54 caliber, and rifle it at 1:60 or so for patched round balls? It seems that about 98% of the metal is already removed -- it wouldn't be like making a barrel from scratch.

Just a thought . . .
