629 Classic with Power Port Barrel.

I have a 629 classic with a Power Port barrel. I would like to try shooting cast bullets in the gun. I read some ware that you should not use cast bullets in a Power Port barrel.
Does anyone have experience shooting cast bullets in a Power Port barrel?

I've shot lead in mine. I got a lead build up on the forward part of the front sight but didn't notice a build up in the port.

Shooting lead through the power-port is much different than shooting lead thorugh a muzzle break. The S&W M500 original load was designed to shoot CorBon 440 Hard Cast LSWCGC thorugh it. I have shot thousand's through my 629 PP with a 245 and 285gr LSC and never had a problem. I do the same with my TC 44Mag with Hunter brake. Just be sure you clean the gun. I would not shoot swaged lead though; they are very soft.

I shot a lot of cast bullets through my 629 classic with a Power Port barrel. Never had a problem.
