Range Report on Tikka in .338 Fed.

   Shot mine today,what a blast.I'm shooting the Federal Fusion store bought stuff now for break in, groups went around 1 1/2" but my dies came in yesterday and pretty sold on the 215 grain Sierra's,so thats what I'll try my best to load for,I'm sure I'll get that down to 1" or less. As far as recoil goes I have a perfect way to decribe it, it's really close to my Marlin 336 in .35 Remington.

   Trigger awesome as always,slick bolt so what else in new.   I't gonna get a different scope though the Redfield works great but I would like more eye relefe with this caliber. All in all it's a keeper,ya it kicks but not as bad as I thought it would.  I sure miss the palm swell. Stock fit a finish great,the wood is outstanding. Happy Camper here.

Nice looking rifle... good luck with it.  I don't think I could handle the recoil, especially on a bench. 

I have a Sako 75 and Tikka 695 (Whitetail Hunter) and yeah, really like those palm swells.  My Tikka 695 loooks  very similar to your new Tikka.  It has a 3X9 VXII... lot's of eye relief.  I needed a fairly long tubed scope to make it work.

The weather here in NJ finally may allow some range time tomorrow to shot the Tikka (.270)
