Bullberry barrels and contender forearms
« on: May 06, 2003, 03:18:56 AM »
Is the forearm dovetails the same or will I have to get a different forearm to fit the bullberry barrel.  I know that bullberry likes a hanger system  but if I choose not to use one what I need to know is if a regular  contender forearm will fit.  Thanks.

The dovetail locks are standard S14 spacing.  I think Fred also uses the longer S16 and 21" barrel spacing on some of his barrels.

Just tell them what spacing you want S-14 or S-16 and he will do it for you. :D

Both contendernut (Fred has 2 different bars) and PJ are correct (Fred will do whatever you want when he makes the barrel).

However, if you have any TC factory forends with single hole mounting, or a Pachy forend, they will both mount to the Bullberry barrel bar.   You have to rotate the bar 180 and swap it end for end and remount it to the barrel to do this.   These are from the way the bar comes pre-mounted for a Bullberry custom forend.   The hanger bar really works, so if you can use it, do so, even if you have a TC 2 hole forend and have to drill a new hole.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
