LH Mauser actions
« on: January 05, 2007, 08:11:35 AM »
A couple weeks ago, I purchased a Charles Daly LH Mauser action on GunBroker.com.  He later e-mailed me and asked if I received it and if I was satisfied.  I e-mailed him back saying I was satisfied and if he ever got another one to let me know.  He e-mailed me again and said he had just found 3 more.  So, I bought another one and he still had 2 more.  These are very hard to find and if anyone is interested, better jump on them quickly.  He is asking $325.00 per action and they are setup for the 30-06 parent case.  His e-mail is bpgunsmith@catskill.net and his phone is 607-326-4088.

Charles Daly's website says that they have quit handling these Mauser actions. I believe they were made in Serbia or Croatia. Anyone have any info about another importer? CD used to advertise that there were long, short and mini (.223 length) actions, all available left-handed. Don't know if any of the short ones ever made it to the States.

Here is Australia the Yugoslav LH Mausers were sold as the Zastava.  I think it was called that because all the good names were taken ;D.  There was a 223 in LH offered for a while.  The actions were a bit rough but a few mates of mine bought them and after I had polished and seated the bolts they handled well and shot well enough for hunting purposes.  They were never going to be tack drivers, but that wasn't how they were marketed here.
