527 American Questions
« on: March 11, 2007, 12:49:47 AM »
I'm new to CZ's so I thought I'd ask a couple of questions. I've come across a nice 527 American .22 Hornet...walnut is plain but appealing, checkering is perfect, blueing flawless, action smooth, etc. The price is $519 plus tax....seem like a good deal? Are the CZ rings that come with these rifles satisfactory? What is the largest diameter scope objective that is useable with the height of these rings? I've seen these rifles highly recommended here in .22 Hornet, so I kind of "paid attention" to it. Any comments +- will be greatly appreciated.

The cz rings that came with my 527 would easily allow a larger objective diameter scope then I am using, which is a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9X40.  Where I would be concerned, if I was you would be the ocular bell diameter.  There is probably 1/8" to 1/4" clearance in my case.  I think $519 might be high, I paid much less for mine but mine is a .223 not a Hornet.
