I am quite surprised to not see any swivel guns on this forum, as most smaller cannon that people have are of the actual scale of most swivel guns.
I think it would be an excellent way to shoot a smaller gun, a proper stand would have to be made of course but that should not be too large a job. It would just need to be able to withstand the recoil, if a permanant location was available a socket could be cemented into the ground that could take an oak post support for the swivel.
I may have to look into a swivel gun of sorts for my first gun.

There have been several threads on swivel guns, and there might be one that is currently for sale (if it hasn't sold yet).
But, taking your hint, I think a fire-cracker caliber swivel gun would be an easy one to make and lots of fun.

If you are going to shoot any serious shot, be sure you leave some give in the post or you will encounter fatigue failure in the yoke, trunnions, post, or all of the above, from the recoil.
