Ebay cannon

I'm certainly no expert, but i don't see how you could go wrong at 105 bucks. Especially as it is brass. Just to buy a piece of brass big enough to build one that size would be more than 105.00. I thik you did fine.  Butch

It's worth $105.  It's a little bit freelance version of an English/US 24 pounder of 1779.  It will give you something to get a idea of how loud things are.

The previous owner was using 70 grains of ffg and newspaper wad on top.  The chart, top of board, is a little hard to read but it looks like he was in the safe limits.  It might be here tomorrow, if not Thursday.  Of coarse im at the firehouse thursday and wont be able to play with it.

Go to your neighbor hood gun shop and buy some 50 cal  felt wads. Load the 70 grs. seat a wad over the powder and shoot. It will be load enough. Wear your ear muffs.

If the chart is to small to read,  hold down you Ctrl key roll the scroll wheel on your mouse back and fort until you get the chart big enough to read.

If you shoot newspaper, or paper towels, or toilet paper, be aware that it will hit the ground about 10-20 feet away and be smoldering.

It's a projectile untill it hits the ground and a fire hazzard after it hits the ground, so you will have to make sure nothing bad happens due to either of those things.

I've never used pre-made wads... no idea what they will do. DD. how far do the wads go and do they smolder?

Felt and cotton wads go about 10 yards and fall to the ground.  I have never seen the felt wads burn or smolder. When it is hot and dry cotton will start fires in green grass.
