How does CZ centerfire accuracy compare to the 452?
« on: January 10, 2007, 08:32:48 AM »
My next rifle will be a .223. I have a 452 in .22 LR and it shoots better than I can hold - I love it. I know several shooters who own 452s and all of their rifles are very accurate. Can I expect the same kind of accuracy out of a CZ centerfire? I don't hear as much about their accuracy.

The reason you don't hear much about the accuracy of the centerfire CZs is because the owners are too busy shooting their rifles and enjoying their bughole groups to come back home and post about it. ;D Seriously, the centerfire accuracy is exceptional, at least in the rifles I have been associated with. Todate that includes a CZ 550 American in 7x57mm, two CZ 550 Full Stocks in 7x57mm, a CZ 550 American in 9.3.62, a CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington and a CZ 527 American in .221 Fireball. I handload and with my CZ 550 American in 7x57mm I can get half inch groups at 100 yards and even shot a .216 inch group at 100 yards one time. The half inchers are lot flukes either. The same can be said for my CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington. This kind of accuracy is with handloads. As far as the other rifles are concerned, one of the 7x57mm full stocks, the 9.3x62 and the .221 Fireball belong to my little brother. I glassbed my rifles as a matter of routine, my little brother does not. I think you will find that the centerfires have all the accuracy you will need and then some. Please keep in mind though, that even though CZ has a reputation for turning out accurate firearms, one or two may slip through the cracks. That is the norm with all mass production items. I have the 527 varmint with the laminated stock. If i do my part it will shoot under a half inch most of the time at 100 yards. I found this one to be a little hard to find what it likes, but once I did all is fine. Like the set trigger, but some people dont. The trigger is good even if not using the set trigger. Also have the 452 in varmint, This one took some stock work but now is a real keeper.
good luck---- theoldman

Thank God I live in the good old US of A. !!!

I got my son a 527( walnut and blued)  in .204 caliber for Christmas, and my family surprised me with the exact same rifle.......we took our annual Hunting trip to South Texas the day after Christmas......and enjoyed white-tail deer hunting, pig, and varmint hunting as well......the .204 is an awesome round...my son and I were both amazed at the accuracy ....and look forward to some very long range coyote hunting this winter......we do not advocate deer hunting with this caliber.....we are sworn to a .270 and a .243 for that ......these are strictly for varmint hunting.....I was kinda like the kid on "A Christmas Story" with mine......almost slept with it Christmas night....haha........a very very nice gun .

I love my 527.  I got the maple stocked .223 and it is a beauty!  Plus it is really accurate.  Since break in, I don't think that I have shot a larger group than .75" at 100 yrds.  It is so good, I sold my savage .223 after shooting this little CZ
