NEF Handi Barrels
« on: January 14, 2007, 04:53:07 PM »
Hello all, just been reading in the classifieds looking at the Handi barrels for sell and had a couple of questions.  First of all, great sight with a lot of variety in one place!

My question is about the barrels for sale for the Handi:  what does NEF "fit" so you can get additional barrels thru there accessory barrel program?  If I buy a barrel from here, what fitting do I have to do?  Do you have to fit it to each frame you plan to use it on?

I personally have owned 2 Handis: a .223 Rem and a .45-70 Govt.  Still have the .45-70 and wish I hadn't sold the .223.  I think they are beyond a doubt the best sleeper in the firearms arena.

Thanks

Welcome to GBO!! Read the barrel fitting info in the FAQs and Help sticky, that will give you an idea of what is involved in getting a barrel fitted, sometimes they fit just fine, sometimes they don't. Many here have many frames, so if the used barrel doesn't fit one frame, it may on another, they aren't one size fits all. NEF H&R starts with a barrel that's never been fitted before and makes the necessary changes to fit them just as we do with used barrels, tho they have specialized equipment to do so.
